As community outreach programs Dental colleges ,hospitals ,clinics all participate in check up camps and refer patients to hospital or colleges. However treatment services get much restricted to the community due to distance of travel, multiple appointments and lack of awareness. Smaller private or charitable oral healthcare facilities in Urban slums and Rural communities are under equipped or not well organised to provide good quality treatment and subsequently the communities miss out on the benefits of good oral health.
We work with the existing Dental set up’s to help them improve their SOP’s(santard operating procedure), workflow organization, dental laboratory attachment…to holistically improve the treatments given to the community.
India is a land of extremes while one end basic Oral care is a challenge the other end great strides are being made in high quality, cutting edge technology and digital dentistry coming up in the horizon!!. In India, Dental Auxillary i.e Chair side Dental assistant, Dental Lab Technician) as a workforce has never been a structured ecosystem and a vacuum much needed to be filled specially with Dentistry going the next level.
Dant Pari is connecting with women in the communities around the point of contact Dental revamped clinic to train them as Dental chair side assistant. Girls /women with 12th pass ,basic English and computers are trained in a 6 month certificate program as Chair side Dental Assistants. An important part of the training is giving them the knowledge to create Awareness on Tobacco cessation in the communities they come from and guidance to nearest centre in case of need of treatment. ICan Care foundation are our partners for this training. First aid and CPR training is also included to equip them with basic life saving skills.
Dant Pari’ was conceptualised out of years of Passion for improvement of Public Oral Health facilities for the lower socioeconomic strata. A tribute to the passion of a mindful Social Entrepreneur Dr M.N.Kulkarni who worked towards providing opportunities to the less fortunate in the field of water, sanitation, immunisation,primary health and education ,urban development , leadership, Panchayati Raj.
“Dant Pari”looks to connect and hand hold Dental Charitable set ups in Urban Slum areas to help revamp, restructure, to help them provide good quality, affordable and accessible Dental Treament.We also help create Awareness and Cessation Platforms for Tobacco consumption both smoking and non-smoking.
We believe that “when you educate a woman you educate a nation”. We focus on women empowerment by providing Skill training in Dental Auxiliary (Dental Assistant, Dental Technician) Healthcare job roles. Right now our focus is on Dental Assistant training for high school Girls/Women from these communities. Dental Chairside Assistants are the key backbone of any Dental set up in a private clinic, hospital ,college . These Students are also trained on Tobacco Awareness so that they reach out to their communities and help gradually create Awareness on Tobacco and provide guidance to required individuals incase of Cessation support.
Although Dant Pari is a fairly young organization, the founder Dr Shweta Javali is a practicing dentist for over twenty years. It is also one of the few chosen ones to be incubated by NSRCEL the social incubator wing of IIMB Indian Institute of Management Bangalore . Dant Pari is a registered Training Centre certified with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).
Oral Health is the window to general health but a much neglected space in India due to inaccessible treatment options ,repeated appointments, cost of treatment Treatment options are compromised especially for the Urban slum and Rural areas .Dant Pari would like to partner with existing Charitable setups already doing great work in the Oral Health Care space. They may have challenges to upgrade their facility due to various reasons like infrastructure ,HR , non-availability of Dental laboratory tie up. Dant Pari will help hand hold these set ups and provide assistance to revamp them.
In India, Dental Auxillary i.e Chair side Dental assistant, Dental Lab Technician as a workforce has never been a structured ecosystem and a vacuum much needed to be filled specially with Dentistry going the next level .All Dental Practises have the need for a good well trained, affable Dental Chairside Assistant DA (Auxiliary).They are the back bone of any Dental Practise. In India we do not have a formal training for DA which could be very difficult for a practise as it involves lot of time and energy to train.
We train Girls/Women High School Graduates from Low socio economic strata in a 6 month DA programme. These Girls receive theory and Practical Training over the 6 months and are well equipped with basic to moderate levels of clinical assistance in Dental Setup. Help to create women empowerment by giving them a semi-professional Healthcare skilling. The training hybrid mode of training with both online and offline classes, especially for students outside Delhi.
We would like to partner with various Charitable Medical set ups that have a Dental clinic running or planning to start and are keen to revamp to help provide high quality but accessible and affordable Oral Health options to the communities around them.
We also would like to reach out to NGO’s working to provide vocational training and who would like to consider Dental Assistant training as a good semi professional option for their girl students.
